Once upon a time as kid I did a lot of drawing of cars. Then the rest of life happened and I stopped. Had a lot of downtime so far at work this week, so I thought I'd pick it back up, and this is the first thing I've come up with.
Biggest problem is that I really messed up the rear wheel orientation, size, and shape, and probably didn't scale things quite correctly to wind up with a good finished product in the rear. So most of the car, that is.
However, if I've learned anything from Mercedes' current design language, you can start off with a beautiful car in the front and then forget about the rest of the car halfway through if you just shove it in a microwave and make it melty.
But yes, the rear is a mess, mostly because I'm rusty and I'm rubbish, and it was giving me absolute fits. I did the B-pillar forward (plus wheelbase) in 30 minutes, and I've spent a few minutes here and there for the last two days trying to figure out what on earth to do with the rear. This is as close as I got, and it's not very close. So, time to start over.

The second paragraph is exactly why I will never post my car drawings on here. :P

Heard that!
It really sucks, too, because I was kind of proud of the way the front 1/4 came out after not having even attempted to draw anything in probably 6 or 7 years, especially given that I wasn't particularly talented back then even. And then I ruined it!

Don't start over, overlay your old one and start correcting what you don't like. You can learn a lot that way.

I spent several years of my youth drawing cars. The side views in Road & Track road tests were my inspiration, but mainly because I wasn't enough of an artist to do anything other than a simple side view. I wish I knew where those drawings were now.
No time to do it anymore, and weirdly, as I think about it, I have no inspiration or ideas. Back then, I could do a dozen riffs on a mid-engine supercar in an afternoon. Now? No clue, no ideas. Yeah, getting old is so fun.

I spent most of my time doing those profile views, and only towards the very end did I start to really make an effort at doing drawings with real perspective. Shit's difficult, especially now!

I will take you up on that piece of advice.
